Comfort & Joy / Fancy Pants Designs

Hello friends! Yvette here with a new layout to share with you, using the beautiful Home for Christmas collection. With so many gorgeous patterns and colors in this collection, it made it very  difficult for me to choose which ones I wanted to use for my layout. With a circle punch, I was able to select multiple patterned papers and arrange them at the bottom of my layout, which created a base for my cut file trees. Also, the Home for Christmas 6x6 paper pad with it's smaller scale prints were  perfect in creating multiple layers to use underneath my photo. I hope you found some inspiration for your next layout using the gorgeous Home for Christmas collection.

Added some hand stitching to few pieces of embellishments for added texture and interest.

Fun Time / My Creative Scrapbook December Tutorial

Merry Christmas, My Creative Scrapbook friends! Today I have a layout to share with you using the gorgeous December main kit. I went with a simple grid design, to document this cute photo of my son having fun playing in the snow.

1. Gather my supplies...Patterned papers, Decorative die-cut, Square punch, Black ink pad, and the Prima clear stamp included in this months main kit.

2. I stamped the Gothic Book clear stamp with black ink onto the 'Glad Tiding' paper.

3. Used the square punch to cut them all out.

4. Distressed the edges with some color ink pads and a distressing tool.

5. Adhered to the decorative die-cuts, which was cut from white cardstock.

6. Arranged the squares onto the 'Joyous Noel' pattern paper and glue in place.

7. Add my photo.

8.  Two large clusters of embellishment was added around the photo, one to the bottom right corner and the other in the top left corner.

9. To complete my layout, I created a title using my Silhouette.

A quick summary of the products found in this month's main kit....patterned paper from Simple Stories 'Country Christmas' collection as well as a few pieces from Heidi Swapp 'Winter Wonderland' and Pink Paislee 'Together For Christmas' collections. The 12x12 combo cardstock stickers, the beautiful holiday floral Bits and Pieces and the layered frames, which are perfect for highlighting your photos. Also included in the main kit, Gold glitter alpha stickers and a Prima clear stamp.

Here are my projects and a few close-ups...

Winter Wonderland...

Created lots of layers and dimension by fussy cut the beautiful poinsettias from Heidi Swapp 'Poinsettia Lane paper and the evergreen trees from the Simple Stories ' O Christmas Tree' paper.

Waiting For Fire Truck Santa...

I selected three of the papers from the Country Christmas collection to create some layers behind my photo. I love the rustic feel/look on paper 5 from Pink Paislee, and decided to add two strips down through the paper layers.

I used some of the beautiful floral bits and pieces, cardstock stickers and some die cut to create a couple of clusters around my photo. I also created a tag, which was added behind the photo.

Merry Christmas...

My wreath was cut from white cardstock and backed, using the Glad Tidings and the Christmas Magic patterned papers. I also fussy cut the gorgeous wreath found on the Christmas Magic paper and place it underneath the cut file wreath.

Here you can see, I added Blue and Red watercolor paint to my background by simple using the packaging technique.

I keep the embellishments to a minimal by adding a large title and one small cluster at the top of the wreath.

Fancy Pants Designs / Fall Fun

Hi friends! Today I am sharing a new layout that's all about Fall fun!  When my son was younger, fall was a time for Apple picking, hayrides, and going to the pumpkin patch. So I decided to document this lovely photo of my son enjoying himself on one of our many hayrides this day, knowing that at the end of the ride there will be free donuts!

I used a leaf cut file to cut about 8 of the maple leaves design from patterned papers in the 6x6 'Good Ol' Days' paper pad, then arranged them onto a 9x9 piece of white cardstock, before adhered to my base patterned papers. I also used another cut file for my title and added an offset to the words in my Silhouette, which allow me to add some stitching detail.
Finish off with a few embellishments from the collection, around the photo. Hope this inspires you to go check out the 'Good Ol' Days' collection, you're going to love it!

Autumn Days-My Creative Scrapbook November Tutorial

Hello, My Creative Scrapbook fans! Today I'm sharing a layout featuring the Autumn Days exclusive cut file designed by Ashley Horton.

I start by cutting the beautiful wreath cut file from white cardstock.

I chose the 'Seasons of Change' patterned paper, the reverse side, to back the wreath cut file and also as my background.

I then used a pencil to trace along the inside of the wreath and removed the inside portion only, using a craft knife or you can also use a small detail scissor.

It took me a little while to choose the pattern paper I wanted to use to back the wreath open with, I didn't want something that was too busy or colorful, I wanted to keep the focus on the beautiful wreath design. I end up using the 'Fabulous Fall' paper and simply arrange it, to my liking.

Next, I added some backstitching down the center of the leaves, before gluing everything in place.

I used stickers, chipboards, Bits and Pieces from the 'Autumn Splendor' collection to embellish the layout by creating a couple of clusters to the inside and the outside of the wreath.

I finish the page by adding some white gesso with my finger around the outside of the wreath, just to soften it a bit.

I hope you like this page and it has inspired you to create your own!

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Fancy Pants Designs-Friendsgiving

Hello Everyone! Today I have a new layout to share for Fancy Pants Designs!  I used the gorgeous 'Good Ol Days' collection to document our family Thanksgiving dinner tradition with my best friend and her family.

This page features some of my favorite techniques that I love to use.... such as, cut files, fussy cutting, die-cuts and lots of layer embellishments. I love adding layers of embellishments into clusters to create height and dimension.

To give this layout a touch/feeling of Fall, I added a few of the DIY Jack-O-Lanterns pumpkins from the 'Howl' collection to my clusters.

I hope my layout has inspired you to check out the 'Good Ol Days' collection and create something of your own.

My Creative Scrapbook-November Projects

Here's this months projects, using the November Main Kit!

A quick summary of the products found in this month's main kit.....patterned paper from Simple Stories 'Autumn Splendor' collection. The 12x12 combo cardstock stickers, Bits & Pieces Ephemera pack with beautiful Fall icons and phrases, the chipboard stickers, and the 12x12 banner cardstock stickers. Also included in the main kit, a pack of Creative Embellishments, as well as gold foam letter stickers from American Crafts.

Here are my projects using the November Main Kit and a few close-ups...

Painted the Creative Embellishment triangles black, used one to frame my photo and backed with patterned paper.

The 'Fall Blessing' pattern paper were perfect to use as my background base.  Added some layers, by fussy cutting the washed out leaves from the 'Autumn Leaves' paper and adhered in place with foam tape.

One of the phrase die-cut found in the 'Autumn Splendor' Bits and Pieces, were perfect to use as a title for my page.

Added a few more pieces of chipboard stickers and ephemera die-cuts around my page to finish off this layout.

So Funny....

For the title of this page, I used a cut file and cut it from some white cardstock. I then decided to distress the edges with some paint, which allows it to blend in with the background paper and adhered with foam tape.

I used the 'Harvest Memories' woodgrain paper as the background for this page and added some white gesso, just to soften it a bit. I also added some tearing, to the top left edge and added a strip of 'Autumn leaves' behind it.

I chose to use one of the banner cardstock sticker and add my photo behind the frame cut out. I layered stickers, Die-Cuts, as well as a few fussy cut flowers around my photo, title and banner.

Autumn...

I started with a white cardstock background, added several torn paper strips along the top of the page and distress the edges a bit.

Create multiple distress layers, behind my photo using the beautiful 'Autumn Splendor' patterned papers.

A few fussy cut leaves from the 'Autumn Leaves' patterned paper were added underneath my photo, as well as a chipboard sticker and some die-cuts.

Mr. Wonderful...

Die-cuts and hand drawn circles were used to create this fun background.

Layers of embellishments and fussy cutting was added around my photo.
