Home For the Holidays | Candy Cane Collection | Sketch Challenge | Pretty Little Studio

Hey there, friends!

I'm really excited to share my layout for the sketch challenge using the cheerful new Candy Cane collection! This vibrant collection is bursting with colors that are sure to bring a smile to your face as you capture those special holiday moments. I can't wait to see how you use it in your own creations!

The Sketch

To add a unique twist to the tree design from the sketch, I used a cut file by Allison Davis called Ornament Tree. After cutting it from white cardstock, I backed it with the Holly Jolly paper. To bring some depth to the design, I applied 49 and Market's Just Peachy dry ink with a blending brush. Additionally, I crumpled some paper, dipped it in the Off the Rails ink pad, and layered it on top of the Just Peachy color. This technique not only enhances the background but also allows you to experiment with new ideas, boosting your creativity for holiday projects.

For my photos, I positioned them on the left side and added a date tag at the top of one for a personal touch. I used the "Home for the Holiday" die-cut from the Festive Treat Words pack as my title, placing it below the photos alongside an adorable elf for added charm.

With so many stunning embellishments in this collection, it can be challenging to decide what to use. To streamline my choices, I focused on a few standout pieces: I incorporated elements from the Oh What Fun! Banners, a Holly berry die-cut from the Merry Mix, and several star die-cuts from the Festive Treat Words pack. I'm thrilled with how it all came together!

Thank you for joining me on the blog today! I encourage you to explore your creative projects with this collection and experiment with different techniques; there's great potential for beautiful results! Your support and enthusiasm mean the world to me. Let's continue to uplift and encourage one another!

Yvette xoxo
