Everyday Adventure | Sketch?!Sketches March 15th Challenge

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches! Here's the March 15th sketch designed by Laura Whitaker....

And here's my take on the sketch...

My son love playing in the woods behind our home and the Wild Child collection from Pink Paislee were just the right collection to document this photo.

I started my layout off by adding some mixed media to the background using the packaging technique with some distress markers. I also used a stencil with some yellow paint to add a few vertical circles onto the background base and love the added interest this create.

Next, using the sketch as a guide to add lots of layers to back my photo, created my title by combining embellishments from Turn The Page and the Wild Child collections and pop those adorable bugs stickers on top.

I wanted a way to add some more texture to my page and decided to incorporate some hand stitching. I only did two corners and really love how this was just the idea I needed to pull the whole design together.

I created a cluster of embellishments on the right side of the photo, which included a fussy cut star, a sticker, a tag from the die-cut ephemera pack, a flair  and a bug clip from my stash.

I also decided to stamp the sentiment "Go outside" around the page and finish the layout off by adding some fussy cut stars from the patterned paper 11.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Brilliant | Stuck?!Sketches March 1st Sketch Challenge

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches! Here's the March 1st sketch designed by the talented Laura Whitaker...

And here's my take on the sketch....

I'm so ready for spring and couldn't resist using the multi-photos on this sketch to create a page with the beautiful Tiger Lilies found in my garden!

I used patterned papers from a couple different Jillibean Soup collections...Farmhouse Stew and Souper Celebration! I love how you can combine many different collections from Jillibean Soup and how well they all come together.

I started my layout off by using a plate to cut out some circles as well as to create the big C's design. Next, using the sketch as a guide I started adding my layers, as shown in the photo below.

I added a small cluster of embellishments in the lower left hand corner which included a few pieces of Pea Pod parts and some fussy cut butterflies from one of the Farmhouse stew pattern paper. I then used a marker to create a butterfly trial.

I added a Flair to the right of my title and to balance the page I added another trail of fussy cut butterflies in the upper right hand corner. Not much more was added to this layout, except of a few clear droplets around the butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Lucky Me | Stuck?!Sketches February 1st Challenge

Hi Scrapping Friends! It's time for a new challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches! Here's a look at the fabulous February 1st sketch, designed my Laura Whitaker...

And here's my take on the sketch...

To create this page I used a number of Echo Park Paper older collection, which I had for a few years...

I begin my page by selection several pieces of patterned papers from my Echo Park stash, which I then use to create a base for my photo.

I used a free cut file from Paper Issues, which were a perfect replacement for the doily in the sketch. I love how the Heart Wreath cut file create both a frame and a focal point for my photo...

For the title, I used some foam letter stickers to spell out LUCKY,  as well as a small tag to add the word ME to.  I then wrap the string around the letter Y and place the tag on an angle. At this point, I felt like the title needed something, so I decided to add the silver butterfly to sit right on top of the foam letters.

I created a small cluster of hearts on the bottom right-hand corner of the photo using an embossing folder as well as a pierced heart die-cut.  I created another focal point by adding a pop of color with a Flair to the top of the die-cut hearts and love the way it balance off the black in the title.

To complete the layout, I tucked two smaller doilies underneath the layout base, one in the top right and the other in the bottom left of the page.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Today Goals | Stuck?!Sketches October 1st Challenge

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

I'm so excited to be selected to joining the Stuck?!Sketches design team for the next six months! I love creating with Laura's sketches and hopefully inspire you to participate in our challenges each month!

Here's the October 1st sketch design by the talented Laura Whitaker.

Here's my take on the sketch!

My son started sixth grade this year and I decided to document this photo of his leaving for his first day in middle school!
I used the gorgeous Boys Fort collection from PinkFresh for this layout and went with one 4x6 photo instead of 4 smaller ones.

To the bottom left of the layout I created a small cluster which included a tag made from some pattern paper, a die-cut piece with the cute saying (I may be wrong but I doubt it) from the ephemera pack, a few stickers, and a button I had in my stash!

On the bottom right hand corner of the photo I added a Charms Creation heart embellishment, along with a painted wood sticker from the Boys Fort collection and to finish off this cluster I added the cute dude flair from A Flair For Buttons!

To add a bit more interest to my photo, I decided to place three of the numbers from the ephemera pack down the right side of the picture and next added the handwritten today die-cut direct on the photo!

I combined a flair from A Flair For Buttons with the word GOALS from the ephemera pack to create my title, I then adhered both to the tag using form dots I love the shadowing and extra height this creates.

To finish my layout off I added a few enamel dots around the page, some stamping to the top left corner of my photo and to the tag at the bottom of the page. Next, I added my journaling and some brown paint splatters.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

You Are My Shining Star | Creative Scrappers Sketch #309

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's a new month and that means a new sketch here at Creative Scrapper!

Here's a look at the August sketch #309 designed by the talented Kristine Davidson.

Here's my take on this month's sketch.

To created this page, I combined patterned paper and most of my embellishments from a few Jillibean Soup collections.

I decided to use one 4x6 photo instead of two smallest photos and added a thin strip of pattern paper on top of the bottom cluster which extended across the page.

Next, I created a cluster on the bottom left hand corner of my photo that includes a flair from A Flair for Buttons, a few die cut pieces from Jillibean soup, along with some wood veneer stars.

I added another small cluster to the upper right hand corner for the photo and tucked a tag underneath the patterned paper layers and added some machine stitching.

I wanted to add a little more detail and color to the left side of my photo, I did this by tucking a few more pieces of embellishments underneath the photo and then finish off with some journaling strips.

The rock star stamp set from Jillibean Soup had the perfect phase to use as a title for my layout, I just use black ink and stamp it right onto the pattern paper :)

I finish off my layout with some more machine stitching and some paint splatters.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx Yvette
