To a New Adventure | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing a new layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the gorgeous May main kit, and the exclusive cut file from The Cut Shoppe. I documented a photo of my son on vacation, enjoying an afternoon of boogie boarding.

Cut file...

I started by cutting the World Adventure cut file from white cardstock using my Silhouette Cameo. I then decided on using the reverse side of (paper 05) the beautiful blue floral pattern paper as my background and used the colorful quilted rainbow (paper 03) pattern paper to back the heart in the cut file. I also added a thin strip of patterned paper 05 across the top and bottom edges of the layout.

I used a few of the die cuts from the Horizon collection to create clusters around my layout as well as one of the puffy sticker.

Added some hand stitched waves and a few white paint splatters to finish off this page.

I hope you felt inspired today and if you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!

Hello | My Creative Scrapbook-May Tutorial

Hello My Creative Scrapbook fans!  Yvette here, and today I'm sharing a layout I create using this month's sketch designed by the talented Laura Whitaker. I love to use sketches as a starting point on most of my pages, it gives me the inspiration I need to start my layouts.

Here's a look at the May sketch...

I start by gathering some of my supplies to create my base for my layout.  Next, using a 1 3/4 circle paper punch I created several circles, I then cut out a few thin strips of pattern paper which I use to attach my circles to.

I adhere all of the circles to the thin strips of patterned paper using a staple-as shown below.

Once my background was finish, I started working on adding some layers of patterned paper behind my photo. I also added some foam tape between the layers to create lots of dimension

At this point, I started adding my embellishments using the sketch as my guide.

On the right side of the photo I created a cluster of embellishments by layering together some of the chipboard accents from the Spring Market collection, a couple of paper shapes flowers, as well as a few cut file butterflies which was added all along the right side of the photo and also along the top.

I combined one of the chipboard phrases from the collection, with a cardstock sticker to create my title. I also added a chipboard tag underneath the title and another cut file butterfly.

Included in this month's main kit was a beautiful strip of burlap, I decided to add it along the bottom of my page, I love the added interest and texture this create on my layout.

I finished the layout off with a few enamel dots and added some of Maggie Holmes vintage buttons to the top of the paper flowers.

I hope you felt inspired today and if you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!

My Creative Scrapbook | A Time To Dream

Hi, everyone. Just a quick stop in to share my last layout created with the May Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook.

I started my layout off by cutting strips of patterned paper into several different sizes and adhere them to this gorgeous coral paper from Jillibean Soup. I love all the laying this create behind my photo and at this point decided to frame my photo by adding one of the frame from the Becky Higgins-project life-currently edition collection.

A few close-ups.....

I created a small cluster of embellishments to the bottom left of my photo that includes a couple of stickers and a circle from Creative Embellishments.

I combined a die-cut from the ephemera pack and some alphabet stickers to create my title.

I finished my layout off by placing a few arrow stickers and some enamel dots around my page.

My Creative Scrapbook | Adventure Time-May Sketch

Hi Scrapping Friends!

It's time for a new sketch over at My Creative Sketches
Here's what I created using both the May Main Kit along with the sketch.

No automatic alt text available.
I followed the sketch design and use it to document Max's first visited to a home improvement store.

The biggest challenge for this layout, picking which gorgeous pattern paper to use! :))))
Once I decided on the four pattern papers I wanted to use, I cut each piece to the size needed and then added machine stitching around the perimeter. Next, following the sketch I started adding my layers.

I created a mat for my photos using some cardstock and pattern paper. Once the photos were positional were I wanted them, I started embellishing.
The die-cut cameras in the Bowl of Dreams collection were perfect to embellish the lower left hand corner of my photo and then layered some of the die-cut flowers around the page.

For my title, I used the mistable fabric alphabet stickers, and added a strip of journaling to complete my layout.

My Creative Scrapbook | Moments Captured | May Main Kit

Hi my scrapping friends!

I'm so excited to be back today to share another layout created with the gorgeous May Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook!
I absolutely love the Jillibean Soup-Bowl of Dreams collection featured in this kit. I truly enjoy creating with it!

I begin by using this Quilt design found on Pinterest as my starting point for my layout.

I started by cutting strips of patterned papers into different sizes and using a 12x12 white cardstock as my base, begin adhering the paper strips by simply following the Quilt design.

I then added stitching to really get the quilted look.

Next, embellishments. I added a cluster of Bowl of Dreams die-cut cardstock flowers, puffy hearts stickers and some stamping in the top right corner.

To the bottom left of the photo I tucked one of the adorable bicycle underneath my photo and added some foam dots to the back of another to create a layered look.

I scattered some of the circle die-cut pieces, along with a few stamped circles to the create some added interest to the left side of my page.
I finished my layout off with some handwritten journaling and my title, which came from a phases found on the Bowl of Dreams -make magic pattern paper.

My Creative Scrapbook | Love Today

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm back with you to share a layout I created for My Creative Scrapbook using the gorgeous May main kit

As soon as I saw this month's Alphas cut file, I knew I wanted to create a page to document this photo of Max looking so handsome and ready for his first day of Kindergarten!

I cut the file from white cardstock and decided to cut it into three strips. I then back each row with different patterned paper from the bowl of dreams collection and added stitching around the perimeter.

Next came the embellishments. I created a little cluster to the bottom left hand corner of my photo using some of the die-cut pieces in the Bowl of Dreams collection, also added a sticker on top of the photo and tucked another underneath.

I combined the word 'love' from the die-cut pieces with a puffy sticker to create my title. I finished my layout off by added some of the positive pieces from the cut file on either side of my photo along with the small heart stickers.

I hope you felt inspired today! If you are not a subscriber yet, give it a try.  The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!
