Love & Laughter | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

I'm back with you today to share another layout featuring the beautiful November Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook!

On our lunch dates, my son loves to take silly selfie to send to his dad, this is such a cute way to document our mother and son one on one time together!
I cut out three strip of patterned paper in different sizes and placed them one on top the other, with the top two on an angle. I created a matt for my photos and added foam tape underneath to give it some dimension.

I tucked a couple of die-cuts labels on the right side of the photo, and to the top right corner of my photo I added a small cluster which included a sticker, along with a few bits and pieces from the ephemera pack.

I added another cluster up in the top left hand corner of my layout using the adorable window chipboard sticker, along with a phase sticker.

A few more cardstock die-cut ephemera bits and pieces place to the left side of the photo and a title created with alpha stickers from my stash to finished the layout.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Trick Or Treat | Stuck?!Sketches November 15th Challenge

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's time for a new sketch challenge at Stuck?!Sketches!  Here's the November 15th sketch designed by the amazing Laura Whitaker!

Here's my take on the sketch...

For this page I used a photo of my son on this Trick or Treat outing taking a year ago.  I loved the design of this sketch, and try to keep fairly close to it.

I used the Goosebumps collection from Pretty Little Studio for my layout, along with a cut file from The Cut Shoppe.  I start by cutting the Spiderweb and the banner from the Hocus Pocus patterned paper and then adhere the web to the cardstock with machine stitching.

I created a cluster on the bottom left hand corner of the photo which included a few die-cuts from the Goosebumps collection and a couple of stickers. How spooky is that spider laying on top of the photo! :))))

Instead of adding a strip of pattern paper to the bottom of the page, I decided to use the banner from the cut file.

I added some layers of patterned paper to the right side of the photo, which create a matting for my title.  I finished the layout off with a few more stickers around the title and paint spatters in black.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

We'd love for you to play along with us at Stuck?!Sketches all you have to do is create a layout based on this sketch and link up your layout on the Stuck?!Sketches blog by November 29th to be in the running to win a prize from one of our sponsors!

Happy Memories | My Creative Scrapbook

I have a new layout to share with you today, created with the gorgeous main kit from My Creative Scrapbook! I absolutely love the Vintage Blessing Collection featured in this kit!

Both my husband and son have October birthdays. So for this layout I'm documenting my son's favorite way to celebrate his birthday, with a delicious Ice-Cream cake!

I started by adding three thin strips of patterned papers to the lower section of my page. I then selected the patterned papers I wanted to use for my balloons and created several circles using a 2ins circle punch.

I arranged the circles to the top of my page and couldn't resist adding some hand stitching to complete the look of balloons floating above my son's head, I also tie the string from the stitching to create a bow. I really loved how this turned out, such a great way to add extra texture to one page!

I created a cluster on the bottom right hand corner of the middle photo using a few cardstock sticker from the Simple Stories Vintage Blessings collection and also added a journaling sticker stip to the bottom of the other two photos.

I finished the layout off by creating a title using a couple of words from the sticker sheet.

Home Sweet Home | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing a layout created with the November Main Kit  from My Creative Scrapbook!

I started this layout with the window and the rose image found in this month exclusive cut file. I first enlarge the window cut file to the precise size I wanted and back it with my photo. Foam tape was used to adhere it down, to give it some extra dimension.

Next, I resized the rose cut file to create three different sizes, I cut the roses from the beautiful happy life pattern paper and before backing it, I added vellum in between to soften the busy pattern. This is such a great option when you want to put two or more patterns together.

At this point I decided my window box needed some leaves, so I used the three stem leaf image also in this month's cut file for some added visual interest.

I finished the layout off with a couple pieces of chipboard, my title and a few clear droplets.

My Creative Scrapbook | November Tutorial-Love Snuggle

Hi My Creative Scrapbook Fans! Today I have a layout to share with you, using the plastic stencil from this month's main kit!  I used the stencil to create a textured background known as Dry Embossing, this technique is very popular in card making.

For this process I needed to use my Big Shot die cutting machine, which meant my cardstock had to be a specific size for me to run it through the machine. I decided on a 5 1/2 x 12 inch strip to fit both the stencil and be able run it through the Big Shot.

I then slide the cardstock through the stencil, as shown below and adhere with some washi tape.↓

Next, I created an embossing sandwich with my Big Shot.

1: Open tap1 in multipurpose platform
2: Add Big Shot clear plastic plate
3: Place plastic stencil face down with cardstock on top

4: Add rubber/silicone mat

5:  Add impression plate on top

Run it through you Big Shot

Here's a close-up of the raised design :)

I added some paint colors to my raised impression but you can also put the stencil back on top and use it as a mask to color in using one or as many different colors as you like!

I used the Pretty Peony patterned paper from the Heart Of Home collection as the background for my layout. I then added the strip of dry embossed paper down the middle of my page and added a thin strip of Homespun patterned paper tucked under both side, along with the lace from this month's kit.

On the left hand corner of my photo I created a cluster using a couple of Vintage Blessings chipboard stickers, a few bits and pieces and a doily from my stash tucked underneath the photo.

I created another focal point to the right side of my photo with a tag I made and layered a couple of bits and pieces, along with a heart chipboard sticker.

I finished the layout with a foil phrase sticker, combined with a cardstock sticker that I used for my title.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx Yvette

Thankful | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing my first layout using the November Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook! This month's main kit features the gorgeous Vintage Blessing Collection from Simple Stories.

I love this photo of my mom, she's never without her straw hat!

I started my page off by adding the beautiful Home Sweet Home patterned paper (reverse side) down the right side of my layout and loved how this created such a soft, feminine look for my background.

I added some layers behind my photo using a couple of 4x4 element cards.  Next, I created a small cluster on the bottom left hand corner using a few bits and pieces from the ephemera pack and top it off with the beautiful rose chipboard sticker.

I created another cluster at the top of my page using the 4x4 heart from the pocket-style page, along with several die-cuts pieces from the ephemera pack.

I added the Jillibean Soup-Cool Beans buttons to the left side of my layout and adhered with some basic white thread.

I finished the layout with a chipboard sticker that I used for my title.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx
