Everyday Adventure | Sketch?!Sketches March 15th Challenge

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches! Here's the March 15th sketch designed by Laura Whitaker....

And here's my take on the sketch...

My son love playing in the woods behind our home and the Wild Child collection from Pink Paislee were just the right collection to document this photo.

I started my layout off by adding some mixed media to the background using the packaging technique with some distress markers. I also used a stencil with some yellow paint to add a few vertical circles onto the background base and love the added interest this create.

Next, using the sketch as a guide to add lots of layers to back my photo, created my title by combining embellishments from Turn The Page and the Wild Child collections and pop those adorable bugs stickers on top.

I wanted a way to add some more texture to my page and decided to incorporate some hand stitching. I only did two corners and really love how this was just the idea I needed to pull the whole design together.

I created a cluster of embellishments on the right side of the photo, which included a fussy cut star, a sticker, a tag from the die-cut ephemera pack, a flair  and a bug clip from my stash.

I also decided to stamp the sentiment "Go outside" around the page and finish the layout off by adding some fussy cut stars from the patterned paper 11.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Love My Garden | My Creative Scrapbook-March Tutorial

Hi My Creative Scrapbook Fans!  For my layout today I was inspired by the beautiful butterfly paper in the I Am collection from Simple Stories.  All those beautiful different colors give me the idea to use the clear stamp set in this month's main kit for a background.

To create my stamp background, I started off by deciding to use the black and white stripe pattern paper, instead of going with a white cardstock base. I try to use a few colors that coordinated with the collection and was very happy with the way it turn out.

Next, I started playing around with the placement of the butterfly stamps, my title and photo. I love the idea of placing my photo in the lower right hand side of the page, and balance the upper left side with a cut apart note card.

I then added a few pieces of embellishments onto the note card, as well as few scattered butterflies and hearts to fill in the empty spots around the page.

To finish the layout, I added a couple strips of patterned paper to create a border to both the top and bottom area of my page. I tore the edges of the paper to give it some added texture and interest.

Here's a few more close-ups....

You Are My Every Minute Of My Ever Day | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing another layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the gorgeous March main kit as well as this month's Cut files

Here's the March cut files...

I started by selecting the globe image and enlarge it to fit a greater part of my page. Next, I Cut if from some white cardstock and instead of backing the flower with pattern paper, I thought it would be fun to use the stencil in this month's kit along with some paint to create an unique backing.

I backed the leaves in the cut file with patterned paper, added my photo and played around with my embellishments to find the right placement.

To balance off the large globe cut file on the left, I decided to go with a large title. I used a cut file from Kerri Bradford studio and really love the end results.

I am Dreaming Big | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi My Scrapping Friends!!!!

Today I'm sharing my first layout created with the March main kit from My Creative Scrapbook, featuring the beautiful I Am collection from Simple Stories!

I begin by building a series of layers using patterned paper and cardstock on my layout as a starting point for my design. I also added some machine stitching around the perimeter of the pink diagonal pattern paper for some added texture.

To the bottom of the photo I added some of the colorful buttons from Pebbles included in this month's main kit, and adhere those to my page with some stitching. I also added a few stickers from the collection right below the buttons.

On the left side of the photo I added my title, as well as some of the phrases from the die-cut ephemera pack and a few fussy cut butterflies.

I had fun creating with this gorgeous kit!

Brilliant | Stuck?!Sketches March 1st Sketch Challenge

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches! Here's the March 1st sketch designed by the talented Laura Whitaker...

And here's my take on the sketch....

I'm so ready for spring and couldn't resist using the multi-photos on this sketch to create a page with the beautiful Tiger Lilies found in my garden!

I used patterned papers from a couple different Jillibean Soup collections...Farmhouse Stew and Souper Celebration! I love how you can combine many different collections from Jillibean Soup and how well they all come together.

I started my layout off by using a plate to cut out some circles as well as to create the big C's design. Next, using the sketch as a guide I started adding my layers, as shown in the photo below.

I added a small cluster of embellishments in the lower left hand corner which included a few pieces of Pea Pod parts and some fussy cut butterflies from one of the Farmhouse stew pattern paper. I then used a marker to create a butterfly trial.

I added a Flair to the right of my title and to balance the page I added another trail of fussy cut butterflies in the upper right hand corner. Not much more was added to this layout, except of a few clear droplets around the butterflies.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx
