Spring | Just Nick Studio

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I have a new layout to share with you, created for Just Nick Studio. This week it's all about Spring and I chose this photo of Max helping his dad in the garden (okay playing!) I always have a difficult time choosing just one cut file to work with, so for this layout I combined three of Nicole's amazing cut files the Spring Words, Butterfly Background 2 and the Doodle Frames!

Here are the cut files I used on my layout....

I enlarged the right frame from the doodle frames set and cut it from light blue cardstock, then place onto both white and pink cardstock which I used as my base and stitched around the perimeter.

I decided to used all of the words in the spring words cut file on my page and cut it from several different pattern papers using the Jillibean Soup-Souper Celebration collection.

I created a little cluster on the top right hand corner of my photo by tucking some of the die cut flowers from the Souper Celebration collection underneath, along with a stamp flower, and cutting apart a few butterflies from the butterfly background 2 cut file and adding one to the top.

I couldn't resist added a couple more butterflies and added one to bottom left hand corner of my photo and the other to the top left hand corner of my layout.

A few paint splashes and some journaling finish off my layout!

Thanks for stopping by :)

My Creative Scrapbook | Wild & Free | April Main Kit

Hi my scrapping friends!

Today I'm sharing a layout I created using the gorgeous My Creative Scrapbook April main kit.

I started my layout off by adding a 6 x 12 strip of pattern paper from Oh My Heart collection down the middle of my page. Next I cut a few circles out, added some stitching around the perimeter and then adhered it to the layout using foam tape.

Next I used some of the stamps from the Heidi Swapp stamp set (included in the kit) to add around the outside of my circle.

I created a cluster down the side of my photo with my title and a few of the embellishments.
A Few enamels dots finish off my layout.

I hope I inspired you to create something beautiful ....

My Creative Scrapbook | Grow Through Life | April Tutorial

Hi Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm going to share with you how quickly and easily this layout came together using the April Main Kit!

I started with a 12x12 black cardstock for my base.

I was inspired by the cute cameras on the Little By Little collection by Shimelle and it teamed up perfectly with the small heart design pattern paper from the Oh My Heart collection by Pink Paislee.

For my first layer I cut the 12x12 patterned paper on a diagonal, which created a triangle and then adhered to my cardstock.

For my second layer I added a smallest triangle to the top and off the sides, added another to the lower right corner and then machine stitched around the perimeter.

From this point on I started adding my embellishments...I adhered my photo with some foam tape underneath to give it some extra dimension.
I created a small cluster on the right side of my photo using a couple pieces of chipboard from the Lovely Day collection, along with a tag and the die cut word joy from the Creative Embellishments set.

To the top of my photo I added another one of the die cut word dream which also came in the  Creative Embellishments set and to the bottom left corner of my photo I created another small cluster using a couple pieces of chipboards.

I used the grow through life phase with a flower from the Pink Paislee-Oh My Heart ephemera pack to create my title and I finished my layout off by adding a few white enamel dots!

Thanks for stopping by :) xoxo Yvette

My Creative Scrapbook | Love Today | April Main Kit

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm back to share another layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the April Main Kit!

I wanted to document this adorable photo of my son's first visited to Central Park! I started by selection paper 05 from the Oh My Heart collection and Seek the Moment from the Little by Little collection, and randomly cut the pattern papers at different angles to created my background design.

Here's a few close-ups...

I added the frame from the Oh My Heart-Ephemera pack onto my photo and loved how it didn't completely covered it.  I created a cluster to the left of my photo using a couple of die cut flowers and hearts from the Oh My Heart ephemera pack.

I used both a star and small circle paper puncher to create a few embellishments that resembles buttons.  I place the circles onto the stars and made a couple of holds and adhered together with some floss, I then added some foam tape underneath to give it some extra dimension.

To create my title I used a couple of chipboard words from the Lovely Day/phases collection by Dear Lizzy and tucked a die cut flower from the ephemera pack underneath.

A few journaling strips and enamel dots finish off my layout.

My Creative Scrapbook | Choose Crazy | April Main Kit

Hi Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm back to share another layout I created for My Creative Scrapbook  using the beautiful April Main Kit.

For this layout I decided to use one of the exclusive cut file provided for our customer each month. I started by cutting the background cut file from some white cardstock and backed it with the beautiful phrase pattern paper (paper 09) from the Oh My Heart collection and then machine stitched around the perimeter.

I created lots of layers behind my photo using several patterned papers from the April main kit. I then added some fussy cut flowers, along with a couple of ephemera pieces from the Oh My Heart collection to the left side of my photo.

I added my title to the top right hand side of my photo, using one of the chipboard phrase from the Dear Lizzy-Lovely Day collection. I then created an outline from pattern paper to back the chipboard and add form dots underneath to give it some extra dimension.

I created a small cluster to the bottom lower right of my page by combining machine stitching, this adorable die cut fox, a few flowers that I fussy cut and some enamel dots.

You can also see here that I tucked a couple of ephemera pieces underneath my photo.

I cut a circle from some pattern paper and started playing around by cutting strips off; the photo below show the end results which I then incorporate into my design.

A few paint splashes and enamel dots finish off my layout.

Creative Scrappers Sketch #305 | @The Beach

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's a new month and that means a new sketch here at Creative Scrappers

Here's the sketch designed by Kristine Davidson

 Image may contain: text

Here's my take on this month's sketch!

This sketch was perfect to scrap these photos of my husband and son having a great time at the inflatable water park in the Bahamas!

I love the way the colors in the Hardy Hodgepodge collection from Jillibean Soup work with my photos.

Our sponsor this month is The Cut Shoppe and we got to select a few cut files to use on our layouts! I decided to used both The Make a Splash and The Beachy Keen cut files to create my page. Since my layout was about vacation fun, I choose the sun icon from the make a splash cut file and cut it from one of the patterned papers in the Jillibean Soup-Hardy Hodgepodge collection.

I started my page off by trimming 1/2 inch off all four sides of my white cardstock, then backing with a 12x12 patterned paper and stitching around the perimeter....before I adding my layers, I used the new Vicki Boutin acrylic paints in orange slice and crushed pineapple to created my background. Next I added some machine stitching to my cut files; matted my photos with the Trace of Triangles pattern paper(reverse side) and from this point starting adding my embellishments.

I created my title by using one of the phase from The Beachy Keen cut file, which was just perfect for this page!

 Thanks for stopping by :)

My Creative Scrapbook | You're So Cool I'm Not Even Mad!

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm back with you to share my first layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the gorgeous April main kit

I love going through older photos of my son. In these photos, I came back into the kitchen to find Max and the floor covered with powdered sugar :)))) I grab the camera, and took a few pictures before cleaning up!

I started my layout off  by using one of the patterned paper from Pink Paislee-Oh My Heart collection (paper18) for my background. Next I added the orange pattern paper (paper05), which I cut into a diamond shape and adhered with machine stitching.

I matted my photos on white cardstock and added foam tape underneath to give it some extra dimension.  To the bottom photo I added a cascading of fussy cut flowers using the Oh My Heart (paper06) and also added one of the flower from the ephemera pack to finish off this cluster.

Here you can see I continue to add a few more fussy cut flowers to the top and right side of my photos and tucked that adorable die cut piece from the ephemera set underneath the left side of my top photo. I really love all the beautiful bit and pieces that came in the Oh My Heart ephemera pack; great for adding layers to your projects.

How cute is this clipboard from the Dear Lizzy-Lovely Day collection, I couldn't resist using it as my title.

I hope I inspired you to create something beautiful ....

Life is Amazing | Just Nick Studio

Hi my scrapping friends!

I'm back to share a new layout created for Just Nick Studio using the Floral frames, Beautiful Butterflies and Life is amazing cut files.

I scrap a photo of myself sitting in the garden, we had just purchase the bench at a local Home Depot and I wanted to give it a test run :)))

The Hardy Hodgepodge collection from Jillibean Soup was perfect for this page. The beautiful, bright colors were a great match for my photo.
To start, I resized the top Floral Frame design to fit my 4x6 picture, and then cut it from patterned paper. I then glued the frame on top of my photo and added foam tape underneath it, to give it some extra dimension!

I knew I wanted to add some butterflies to my layout and the Beautiful butterflies cut file was perfect for this. I cut the butterflies from pattern paper and instead of using the cut file as a whole, I decided to cut it apart and use the butterflies individually. I then arranged the butterflies to make it appear as if they were flying off the page.

I used some wood veneers and die-cut cardstock from Jillibean Soup to embellish both the butterflies and the frame.

I added machine stitching across the Life is Amazing cut file which created a great title for my page.

A few paint splashes and enamel dots finished off my layout.

Thanks for stopping by :)
