My Creative Scrapbook | Craft Space | Yvette

Hi My Creative Scrapbook Fans!  It's Yvette, and today I'm so excited to give you a tour of my crafting space.

My craft space is a room right off my kitchen and it's also used as our casual dining area. Here's a view of the room as you enter from the kitchen, and the view from this room is absolutely amazing in the fall!

As you can see from my photos the room has two walls that is complete made up of windows, a french door that leads out to a deck and a half wall that looks into my kitchen, which means I do not have a whole lot of wall space storages.

My main source for storage is a Martha Stewart Living craft space eight drawer flat file cabinet and a craft table.

I used the craft table to hold my sewing machine, Silhouette and all of my patterned papers/ cardstocks.

I love to stand while I'm working on a project and the flat file cabinet is the perfect height for this.

As you enter the room from the kitchen, I have a small cabinet on the right where I keep my Big Shot and metal die-cuts on. I love the idea of having quick access to my die-cuts and don't have to go searching around in a drawer.

I got tired of waiting for the sun to take my photos, so I bought a photo studio lighting kit from Amazon and set it up in the back corner of the room.

Let's take a look at what I have storage in my Martha Stewart craft cabinet. The top drawer holds all  of my flairs, buttons, glue etc. and also my Creative Scrappers sketches books.

The second drawer holds my ink pads, acrylic paints, sponge daubers, stencils and my stamping tool.

In the third drawer you'll find my collection of paper punches, my current MCS-DT kit, embroidery floss and some products I might be using at the moment.

I storage my 6x6 paper pads collection, 8.5 x11 cardstocks, paper trimmer and my layouts I'm working on in this drawer.

This drawer holds all of my embellishments, which is storage in no particular order.

The last two drawers, one holds my stamp collection and the other holds some more paints, Neenah white cardstock - great for making cards, a scoring board, 1-2-3 punch board, and a flower punch board.

I hope you've enjoyed a look into my crafting space.  It's may not be a dedicated craft room but I absolutely love it!

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

My Creative Scrapbook | So Thankful | September Tutorial

Hi My Creative Scrapbook Fans!  Today I have a quick and easy tutorial to share with you...how to create these 3-D stars!

Whenever I can, I love to create my own embellishments and stars are one of my favorites!  Here's a look at my layout I created using the 3-D stars.

I used my Big Shot and a 5 point star die cut to create several stars for my page...you can also use a star template or draw your own.

Next, using a scoring board and scoring tool....I line up the inner section of the star with a scoring line and score each one to the center.

I then flip the star over and score down the middle of the star points, as shown in the photo below.

Next, crease and fold all of the scored lines...continue creasing and folding all the way around the star. The tops will be high and inner dips of the star will be creased in the opposite direction...as shown in the photos below.

Now you can start adding your 3-D stars to your projects!

Here's a couple of close-ups...

I hope I inspired you today to create your own embellishments!

Here's the fabulous sketch designed by Laura Whitaker

Here's my take on the sketch!

I visited my mom and dad in July and took this photo of my mom...how amazing is this view from the veranda of my parents home in Grenada!

My layout was created using My Creative Scrapbook September Main Kit!  This kit is such a gorgeous kit featuring the Jen Hadfield...Heart Of Home collection and perfect for this page.

I created a small cluster on the bottom left hand corner of my photo which included a few pieces from the ephemera pack and an accent sticker.

I decided to fussy cut a couple of flowers from the Gatherings pattern paper to add to the top right hand corner, along with the cute bird cage sticker.

To the bottom of the layout, I added two strips of pattern paper with some machine stitching on top.  Next, I created my title using Amy Tangerine Goodness Thickers, also included in this month's main kit and added another accent sticker next to the title.

I finished the layout off with some journaling strips, a few clear droplets, stamping and some paint splatters!

Here's the hop order:

Be sure to leave a comments at each stop on the hop today...

My Creative Scrapbook-September Main Kit | Buddies

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm back to share another layout using the September Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook
This month's main kit is absolutely beautiful and great for documenting those special moments.

I started with a 12x12 white cardstock and created an outer frame using some patterned paper and adhered with some machine stitching.

Next, to add a bit more interest to the center of my page, I layer two pieces of pattern papers one on top the other. The base is cut to 9x9ins and the top is cut 1/4ins smaller.

This page came together very quickly, I added a couple of accent stickers to the bottom corner of the left photo, and used a ephemera piece along with a house sticker to place in the middle of my photos.

I used my Cameo and a cut file to create my title.

I finished the layout off with a few enamel dots, a word sticker under both photos and some zig zag machine stitching under the title!

Forever In Our Hearts | My Creative Scrapbook-September Main Kit

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing my first layout using the gorgeous September Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook

For this layout I decided to use an older photo of my husband parents, enjoying a day of antiquing! They both pass away about ten years ago and will forever be in our hearts!

I started by selection the beautiful wreath image from the September exclusive cut files and cut it from some white cardstock.

I selected the patterned papers I wanted to used for my page and started building my layers. Next, I     added some machine and faux stitching around the edges.

I tucked a portion of the cut file underneath the pattern paper and then started adding my embellishments.

I hope I inspired you today to create something beautiful using the cut files from My Creative Scrapbook!

Thanks for stopping by:) xx
