Enjoy The Little Things | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm sharing a layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the gorgeous April main kit! I'm seriously loving everything in this gorgeous kit, especially the beautiful color patterned papers!

I used a grid design to document a couple of photos of my son enjoying and having fun with some watermelon:))))

I started by creating multiple layers of patterned paper behind each of my grids, as well as adding some machine stitching and then adhered to some white cardstock. Next, I trim 3/4 inch off each side of the white cardstock.  I then matted the layout using the reverse side of the From Me To You pattern paper, and also tucked a couple pieces of the larger black and white polka dots paper underneath on an angle for some added interest.

Here's a couple of close-ups....

I finished the layout with a variety of embellishments including ephemera pieces, 3D stickers and a few die cuts.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

I hope you felt inspired today and if you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!

Happy Springtime | My Creative Scrapbook - April Tutorial

Hello My Creative Scrapbook fansYvette here, and today I am sharing a layout that all about fussy cutting. Fussy cutting is such a fun and relaxing technique, especially when you get to play with gorgeous florals and patterns like the ones in this month's main kit!

I started by gathering my suppliers.

The beautiful floral design on the Backyard Blooms and the Hello Spring patterned papers were perfect for this page. I had an idea to create two large clusters of flowers and started by fussy cutting all of floral images....always look for elements in your patterned papers that can be fussy cut to use as embellishments on your page.

Next, I cut my 5x7 photo into 1/2 inch strips. I then created a 10x10 base with some white cardstock and arrange the photo strips so as to fit inside the center and added some machine stitching around the edges.

I then matted the layout onto the wood panels patterned paper and love the contrast between the white and brown.  At this point I knew I wanted to incorporate some of the pink in the photo and did this by adding a piece of pink cardstock between the layout and the wood panels base.  I also added a couple strips of patterned paper across the bottom of the page which allowed me to balance the pink from the cardstock.

I created two clusters using the fussy cut flowers in opposite corners of the page, along with a few phases from the Simple Stories cardstock stickers and a die-cut from the Patio Party collection ephemera pack.

Here's a couple of close-ups....

I finished the layout off  by adding a few more fussy cut Dragonflies!

I hope I inspired you to go ahead and fussy cut some of the gorgeous patterned papers included in this month's kits and if you're not a subscriber as yet, give it a try.  All the kits are so beautiful, you will not regret it!!!

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

You Are My Sunshine | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi Scrapping Friends!!!

Today I'm sharing layout for My Creative Scrapbook using the gorgeous April main kit as well as this month's Cut files

Here's the April cut files...

I used both the bicycle and fence image from this month's free cut file to document a photo of my son riding around in a circle on his tricycle. I started by resized the fence to fit across the middle of the page and cut it out of the beautiful blue and white check pattern paper from Simple Stories-Welcome Spring collection.  Next, I resized the bike so it can fit in the lower section of my layout and cut if from some black cardstock.  Back the wheels with some hand painted white cardstock and added some hand stitching around the edges of the bicycle wheels.

I fussy cut some of the flowers from one of the patterned papers and add them to the right and left of the bicycle. I also added a couple of stickers from the Welcome Spring collection to the top of the bicycle basket.

I cover the top half of the page with the Hello Spring patterned paper from the Welcome Spring collection. I absolutely love all those gorgeous flowers with so many vibrant colors on this paper.

I created a cluster on the right hand side of the photo using some stickers, a cut away note card (as my title) and a die-cut doily.  I also added a few die-cut tags underneath the top of the photo.
I hope you felt inspired today and if you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!
