Santa - Simple Vintage Dear Santa Collection by Simple Stories

Hey there! I've got some fantastic Christmas inspiration for you today using the stunning Dear Santa collection by Simple Stories. Get ready to be inspired and feel the holiday spirit!

For this project, I used white and red cardstock paper. I trimmed an inch from each of the three sides and distressed the edges to create a unique, textured look. Then, I placed the papers on top of the black gingham paper at the top of the page. I added multiple layers of patterned papers that complemented each other perfectly. Finally, I added my photos and embellished the page with a few Layered Bits and Pieces, Ephemera - Bits and Pieces, and the Santa from page pieces as the title. Overall, I am really pleased with how this project turned out!

Enjoy the video and happy scrapping!

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope my project using this collection will inspire you to create something beautiful, too!

Oh, What Fun | Simple Stories | Boho Christmas Collection

Oh, What Fun

Hey there, my lovely Simple Stories friends! It's Yvette here, and I'm thrilled to share my latest layout with you using the stunning Boho Christmas collection. Oh, my goodness, this collection is absolutely amazing! It's so soft and beautiful that you're going to fall in love with it!

For my project, I used the reverse side of the Mistletoe Wishes paper. This side of the paper has a lovely light pink hue with outlines of Christmas trees and dots. I used this paper to create a heart, which I then enhanced by adding machine stitching around the edges. Additionally, I distressed the border to give it a more rustic feel. To complete the design, I cut out some tags from the Tag Elements paper, placing them under the heart so that only the top section of the tags was visible, which framed the heart nicely.

I combined a few fussy-cut gifts from the Better Not Pout pattern paper with chipboard stickers, cardstock stickers, and some ephemera bits and pieces to embellish my layout. This collection has the most beautiful die-cut poinsettias and adorable snowmen, making it so easy to add many layers and create a super festive look!

I used one of the papers from the 6x8 paper pad to back my photo and placed it on the left side of the heart.

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope my project using this collection will inspire you to create something beautiful, too!

Yvette xoxo

Candy | Simple Stories | FaBOOlous Collection

Candy

Hey there, my lovely Simple Stories friends! It's Yvette here, and I'm thrilled to share my latest creation with you using the fantastic FaBOOlous collection. This collection has got to be one of my absolute favorites, with its adorable and spooky Bits and Pieces, not to mention its stunning patterned papers that are simply to die for!

I incorporated my photo in one of the beautiful chipboard frames. I then realized that the picture did not occupy the entire space within the frame, so I created two 1/2-inch circles using some of the beautiful, patterned papers from the FaBOOlous collection. I then arranged them vertically down the page, thereby filling the vacant space in the frame. I added two more chipboard frames to maintain an overall balance within the layout design.

I added embellishments in and around each frame to make them stand out. I used Journal Bits and die-cut Bits & Pieces to create a more cohesive and exciting look. One of the die-cut pieces I used was an eerie haunted house, which added a spooky touch to the overall design. I also incorporated bats, which complemented the theme perfectly.

I chose the foam word "CANDY" for the title because of a sweet memory I have. During a Halloween outing with my son, he kept asking for candy from people instead of saying "trick or treat." This cute moment stuck with me, so I used it as my title and added it directly onto the frame to commemorate it.

I included a small amount of stenciling throughout to add texture and depth to the page. This helped tie the different elements together and create a more cohesive and visually appealing layout.

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope that you've found some inspiration! Happy October to you all!

Yvette xoxo

Sunny Day | Bella Blvd | Lake Life Collection

It's Yvette on the blog today, and I have a new layout to share using the fabulous new Lake Life collection.

I fell in love with the charming *Gone Fishing* patterned paper, which features colorful fish on a dark blue background on one side and a delightful red and dark red checkered pattern on the other. I knew this beautiful paper would be the perfect centerpiece for my layout. I carefully cut the patterned paper into an 8-inch circle and split it into two halves, adding some lovely machine stitching along the curved edges. To give it some character, I gave it a distressed finish, which made it even more special.

I arranged the circle half on a slight angle and stagged them, so they didn't meet. I added the words border strip from the Borders paper down the middle of the circle to bring everything together and create a cohesive look.

I decided to layer some of the larger die-cut pieces from the Lake Life collection to cover up some of the busy pattern paper in the upper half of the circle and create a stunning outdoor scene. This way, the design looks more balanced and less overwhelming. On the lower half of the circular design, I incorporated another set of decorative elements using die-cuts from the Ephemera Words and Icons, as well as the Ciao Chip Chipboard. To add an extra touch of cuteness, I included the adorable bear adorned in brown gingham plaid and blue striped overalls from the Bella Pops - Bearly Fishing.

I completed the layout by adding black and white ink splatters.

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope that you've found some inspiration!

Happy Fall | Simple Stories | Acorn Lane Collection

Happy Fall

Hello, Simple Stories friends!

It's Yvette on the blog today, and I have a new layout to share using the gorgeous new Acorn Lane collection. I absolutely adore this paper collection! The autumn-inspired designs are incredible, with everything from cozy plaids to gorgeous florals and adorable icons. Looking at these designs truly fills me with warmth and happiness.

For my background, I cut the Happy Harvest patterned paper to measure 6 1/2 inches and placed it in the top section of my page. The beautiful gingham Hello Fall pattern paper was added to the bottom half of the layout and cut on a curve for a bit of interest. I used a strip of the Warm Hearts paper to connect the two pieces of patterned paper.

I added the beautiful washi tape with the pink hearts at the top and bottom section of the page, as well as some hand-stitching.

I cut the beautiful Falling Leaves and Cozy Days pattern papers into strips of varying lengths and widths. With these cutouts, I created a layered cluster over the top of my background. I then added my photo, backed with another piece of pattern paper and coordinating Color Vibe cardstock, bringing everything together in a truly inspiring and breathtaking way.

I have placed a large and eye-catching embellishment cluster in the bottom right-hand corner of the photo. The cluster features some of the beautiful die-cut foliage and flowers from the Floral Bits and Pieces, which also have that adorable ladder that draws your eye toward the picture.

To balance out the larger floral cluster, I added another smaller one in the upper left corner of the photo. This cluster contains a few die cuts from the Journal and Floral Bits and Pieces.
I spelled out "Happy Fall" with the alphabet stickers in the Sticker Book and placed it along the curve where my background papers meet.

I completed the layout by adding the cute fox and brads from the Decorative Brads. Additionally, I included a few small hearts and sentiment strips from the Journal Bits and Pieces.

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope that you've found some inspiration!

Happy Day | Simple Stories | Color Vibe Collection

Hello, Simple Stories friends!

It's Yvette on the blog today, and I have a new layout to share using the beautiful Color Vibe collections. I combined different elements and pattern papers from various Color Vibe collections to document my son's bike-riding skills after he removed the training wheels.

I started with the Color Vibe cardstock-Birch/White Grid pattern paper as my background. Next, I cut out a few 1x1 squares using the Color Vibe Dark pattern papers and arranged them diagonally on my layout. I wanted to add some texture to the squares, so I added a large stitch X on some of them.

I matted my photos using the Color Vibe Textured Cardstock- Pumpkin and Terracotta. Then I adhered the pictures in the middle of the layout, slightly overlapping them and placing them at a slight angle.

I used the beautiful Color Vibe Flower Bits and Pieces as embellishments and layered the flowers from the different Color Vibe collections to create some unique flowers. Once I had assembled the flowers, I added some of the Color Vibe Buttons to the center to complete the look.

I created a beautiful floral cluster at the bottom of the photos using the flowers I made using the Color Vibe collections. I also tucked some of the leaves from the Color Vibe Flower Bits Collection in-between the flowers, added a smaller cluster in the top left corner of the photos, and adhered some with foam tape to give the clusters some lovely dimension and interest.

I decided to use the HAPPY DAY Foam Stickers Titles from the Simple Vintage Essentials Collection for my title and place it between the flower clusters.

Now I need to add some butterflies amongst my flowers. So, I drew a few butterflies onto some of the Color Vibe 12x12 patterned papers, cut out the hand-drawn butterflies, distressed the edges, and glued them in place. I added some enamel dots to complete the layout.

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope that you've found some inspiration!

Now and Forever | Simple Stories | Simple Vintage Essentials Collection

Hello, it's Yvette, and I'm thrilled to share a new layout with you today that showcases the SV Essentials collection.

For my background, I decided to use the reverse side of the pattern paper "Be Curious." It features a lovely, distressed ledger design that I thought would work well on this particular page. To add some extra visual appeal, I incorporated a hand-stitched broken circle. The result was a beautiful and unique detail that I really loved.

The SV Essentials collection offers various stunning pieces in the Take Note Bits, Ephemera, and Captured Bits, allowing me to create multiple layers behind my photo easily.

I incorporated the Butterflies and Typeset Rub-Ons in several areas to add an exciting touch to my layout.

I used two larger pieces from the Botanical Bits to enhance the photo and positioned one of the butterflies to create a cluster in the lower left corner. Additionally, I applied green and orange markers to tint the butterflies and arranged them throughout the page.

To finish the layout, I added one of the chipboard frames with the words Now and Forever as my title, along with a few stars.

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope that you've found some inspiration!

Hello | Simple Stories | The Little Things Collection

Hello

Greetings, my friends! I'm thrilled to share with you a delightful layout that features Simple Stories *The Little Things* collection. The layout beautifully displays a series of photos documenting the fun memories of my son and me enjoying ourselves while lacing beads. Pictures like these are truly remarkable and have beautifully captured some wonderful memories.

To create a backing for my photos, I cut a piece of the *Enjoy Every Day* paper to a size of 4 1/2 x 6 inches and then arranged the photos to overlap slightly. (Photos measurements-1 5/8 x 3 1/2 inches)

With so many beautiful, patterned papers in this collection, selecting a few pieces from the 6x8 patterned paper pad was easy to create chevron shapes using a diamond punch. After carefully adding hand stitching along the edges, I adhered it to the left side of the page.

I couldn't go past using some gorgeous Floral Bits and Pieces for embellishing. I created two beautiful floral clusters. I added one to the photos' bottom right-hand corner and placed another in the top left. I also used some foam tape to add dimension when adhering the flowers and created a beautiful frame around my design using some hand-stitched, and I love how it turned out.

For my title, I chose one of the lovely Foam stickers that I really liked and placed it below the photos. Underneath the title, I included a Chipboard Sticker phrase along with my journaling to tie it all together.

Thank you so much for joining me here on the blog today. I hope that you've found some inspiration!
