Hello My Creative Scrapbook fans! Yvette here, and today I am sharing a layout that all about fussy cutting. Fussy cutting is such a fun and relaxing technique, especially when you get to play with gorgeous florals and patterns like the ones in this month's main kit!
I started by gathering my suppliers.
The beautiful floral design on the Backyard Blooms and the Hello Spring patterned papers were perfect for this page. I had an idea to create two large clusters of flowers and started by fussy cutting all of floral images....always look for elements in your patterned papers that can be fussy cut to use as embellishments on your page.
Next, I cut my 5x7 photo into 1/2 inch strips. I then created a 10x10 base with some white cardstock and arrange the photo strips so as to fit inside the center and added some machine stitching around the edges.
I then matted the layout onto the wood panels patterned paper and love the contrast between the white and brown. At this point I knew I wanted to incorporate some of the pink in the photo and did this by adding a piece of pink cardstock between the layout and the wood panels base. I also added a couple strips of patterned paper across the bottom of the page which allowed me to balance the pink from the cardstock.
I created two clusters using the fussy cut flowers in opposite corners of the page, along with a few phases from the Simple Stories cardstock stickers and a die-cut from the Patio Party collection ephemera pack.
Here's a couple of close-ups....
I finished the layout off by adding a few more fussy cut Dragonflies!
I hope I inspired you to go ahead and fussy cut some of the gorgeous patterned papers included in this month's kits and if you're not a subscriber as yet, give it a try. All the kits are so beautiful, you will not regret it!!!
Thanks for stopping by :) xx
