Best Friend | My Creative Scrapbook - Tutorial

Hi  My Creative Scrapbook fans!!!  Today I'm sharing a step by step tutorial that I created using the February sketch!

Here's a look at the fabulous sketch designed by Laura

I started my layout off by using a small plate to create a circle. Once I had the circle cut out, I added some machine stitching around the perimeter and then adhere the circle onto my white cardstock base.

I popped my photo up with foam tape adhesive for some added dimension and add the strips of patterned papers to the bottom of my page as shown in the sketch.

Next, the embellishments. I chose a couple of larger cardstock shapes from the ephemera pack and arrange them on the left hand side of the photo.  Next, I move down to the bottom of the page and create a smaller cluster using a couple of ephemera pieces.  I also added this cute button I had in my stash, to the center of the flower.

At this point, I felt like something was missing.  The area at the back of the circle needed a pop of color, so I decided to use a one inch circle punch to make several smallest circles, which created this beautiful scalloped border...how I'm happy:))))

Also included in this month's main kit a package of foil & foam phrase stickers, perfect for using as titles. So as soon as I saw the Best Friend phrase I knew I wanted to document this photo of my sweet and dearest friend Maria. Our friendship started over 25 years age when we met while working for the same Dentist:)))

To finish the layout off I added some paint spatter and a few gold sequins around the page.

Thanks for stopping by :) Yvette xx

I hope you felt inspired today and if you're not a subscriber yet, give it a try. The kits are all so beautiful and you will not regret it!!!!

The View | Stuck?!Sketches February 15th Challenge

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

It's time for a new challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches! For the February 15th challenge Laura Whitaker created two fabulous sketches to choose from!

Here's a look at the first one....

and here's the bonus sketch!

I chose to use the first sketch, to document this photo of my son looking out over the lake and just admiring the beauty in nature.

Here's my take using the first sketch...

I used a few pieces of patterned paper from Echo Park *Happy Birthday(Boy)* collection on this layout. As you can see the pattern papers in this collection can be use to document much more than just a birthday celebrate.

I started my layout off by adding a 10x10 pieces of white cardstock to the lower left hand corner, instead of placing it in the center of the page.

Behind my photo I added some layers using some solid color cardstock and a couple of doilies. I use my Big Shot to create a die-up star and some branches and use the die-cutting to create a cluster on the left hand side of my photo as well as a button from my stash.

I added a pop of color with the orange on my title and also in the tag at the top of the photo.

I finish the layout off by adding some die-cut stars to the page, as well as a few enamels dots and some black paint splatters.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

We'd love for you to play along with us at Stuck?!Sketches all you have to do is create a layout based on one of the sketches or even both...and link up your layout on the Stuck?!Sketches blog by February, 28th to be in the running to win a prize from one of our sponsors!

Love Always | My Creative Scrapbook

Hi My Scrapping Friends!

Today I'm back to share another layout for My Creative Scrapbook, featuring the beautiful February cut files!

I documented a few 2x2 photos for the three fabulous guys in my life.

Here's a look at the free cut file available this month to My Creative Scrapbook customers...

I decided to use both the XOXO and the heart on my layout.  Next,  I open my Cameo and decided where on my background I wanted the XOXO icon and cut it out of white cardstock.  I then backed it with the Be Mine patterned paper and adhered the positive pieces from the cut file on top of the opening with some foam dots for more dimension.  Once my background was ready,  I decided to trim about an inch from the edges in order to create a frame using a few different pieces of solid color cardstocks.

Next, I cut out the heart image using the reverse side of Be Mine patterned paper, added some hand stitching around the outer edges of the heart and arrange my photos to the inside opening.

I finished the layout of by adding my title and a couple pieces of embellishments.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx

Hi My Scrapping Friends!!!

Today I have a layout to share using the gorgeous main kit from My Creative Scrapbook! This month the main kit contain the beautiful *Forever My Always* collection from Pebbles Inc. and I just couldn't resist scrapping this awesome photo of our dog Titan!  Isn't he a cutie ;))))

I started my layout off by creating three stripes using the beautiful kraft pattern paper with the small hearts(the reverse side of Love Notes) as well as the Freshly Baked patterned paper.  I then added some stitching around the perimeter of each of the strips, and adhere to my white cardstock base.

I added one of the beautiful dimensional sticker including in this month's main kit to the left corner of the photo, as well as a couple of layered fussy cut flowers from the Date Night patterned paper.

I created another smaller cluster to the top right hand corner of my photo using some of the beautiful die cut embellishments from the *Forever My Always* collection, as well as a tag tucked underneath the photo which were created using a medal die cut and the gorgeous Freshly Baked (reverse side) patterned paper.

Next, I added my title using some of the foam letter stickers also included in this month's kit. I added another die cut tag just below the title and pop the cute pencil from the ephemera pack on top.

I finished the layout off by adding another thin strip of pattern paper to the bottom of the page.

Lucky Me | Stuck?!Sketches February 1st Challenge

Hi Scrapping Friends! It's time for a new challenge over at Stuck?!Sketches! Here's a look at the fabulous February 1st sketch, designed my Laura Whitaker...

And here's my take on the sketch...

To create this page I used a number of Echo Park Paper older collection, which I had for a few years...

I begin my page by selection several pieces of patterned papers from my Echo Park stash, which I then use to create a base for my photo.

I used a free cut file from Paper Issues, which were a perfect replacement for the doily in the sketch. I love how the Heart Wreath cut file create both a frame and a focal point for my photo...

For the title, I used some foam letter stickers to spell out LUCKY,  as well as a small tag to add the word ME to.  I then wrap the string around the letter Y and place the tag on an angle. At this point, I felt like the title needed something, so I decided to add the silver butterfly to sit right on top of the foam letters.

I created a small cluster of hearts on the bottom right-hand corner of the photo using an embossing folder as well as a pierced heart die-cut.  I created another focal point by adding a pop of color with a Flair to the top of the die-cut hearts and love the way it balance off the black in the title.

To complete the layout, I tucked two smaller doilies underneath the layout base, one in the top right and the other in the bottom left of the page.

Thanks for stopping by :) xx
